3x3: Liverpool-Roma, the Serie A relegation battle and upcoming managerial changes

Stefano from AS Roma Ireland joins journalist Kevin Vote and Twitter personality Roma Rush as they are put on the spot with three topical football questions…

The Roma Question: What was your initial thought and/or reaction when Roma drew Liverpool in the Champions League?

Kevin / @Vote4kevin: “Well my first thought was 'Who will Paul Rogers be rooting for?’ My reaction was one of relief though, as I think Roma avoided the two giants left in the competition, giving them the best possible chance to advance to a dream final.”

Stefano / @ASRomaDublin: “It was a mixed reaction. Positive because Liverpool aren't at the same level of Real or Bayern. Negative because they play an aggressive football style that might cause problems. And of course, Mohamed Salah playing against his former club.”

Rush / @monchimoney: “Well, when the draw for the semi-final was happening, I was asleep. I slept through it because I was awake for the quarter-final and we drew Barcelona. I think at this stage, all the teams are good, so there was nobody I was looking to avoid in the draw. It is what it is and I have high expectations for the team!”

The Serie A Question: With just three points separating 17th placed SPAL from 19th placed Hellas Verona, which team out of the bottom four is most likely to avoid relegation?

@Vote4kevin: “SPAL seems up for the challenge, and they have the easiest remaining schedule of the bottom four teams, so I’ll go with them as most likely to avoid relegation.”

@ASRomaDublin: “I think Hellas Verona will get relegated alongside Benevento. The battle to avoid relegation is between SPAL and Crotone, with the latter probably to go down.”

@monchimoney: “I’m very surprised Hellas Verona are in the relegation battle, they seemed to make some really solid signings this summer. I hope they can stay in Serie A because I believe they’re the team with the most quality out of the four.”

The General Football Question: Who and which club will make the biggest managerial change this summer?

@Vote4kevin: “I could see Pep Guardiola leaving, or rather being asked to leave Manchester City this summer. As great as he’s been there, he was hired to win the Champions League and failed to do so.”

@ASRomaDublin: “Luciano Spalletti's position at Inter is not that stable, especially with Walter Sabatini out. The Suning group hasn’t exactly done its job well, at least not what Inter’s fans expected in the summer. Roma, Juve, Napoli and Milan are all bound to stay the same.”

@monchimoney: “The biggest managerial change for a club has to be Arsenal. I feel like Wenger has not been up to the task lately and they have numerous big name suitors like Ancelotti, Tuchel, and Jardim.”
