AS Roma's Sustainability Social Camps for children in vulnerable economic and social conditions are back

The club was once again keen to organise a special edition of its summer camps this year. The event allows dozens of children in the city who live in vulnerable economic and social conditions to benefit from a special leisure and educational experience over the course of their holidays.

The seventh edition of the AS Roma Sustainability Social Camps will take place from 29 June to 10 July in the facilities of the Circolo Sportivo Dabliu Eur, in collaboration with and featuring the contribution of the Lazio Regional Council, with which Roma has signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at preventing and combating bullying and cyberbullying. The initiative is in fact part of the "No Bulli" campaign, which makes use of the social role of sport as a tool for raising awareness, promoting inclusion and fostering mutual respect, while countering all forms of abuse of power.

For this edition, HDI Assicurazioni - the club’s Insurance Partner – was eager to be involved in the project by providing the necessary insurance coverage free of charge to staff and participants.

The camps are an important educational and social project that, over the course of the two weeks, will involve 80 children between the ages of seven and 11 selected by the Forum Terzo Settore Lazio, the parishes of the Giallorossi community network, the Presidenza del IX Municipio and the Salvamamme association. Among them there are also children from Punti Luci [Points of Light], the educational centres in the suburbs promoted by Save the Children to combat educational poverty and offer opportunities for learning and social inclusion.

The day's programme will consist of two training and play sessions interspersed with lunch, educational activities and workshops inspired by the UEFA Sustainability Policies, in order to promote principles of sustainability and responsibility according to the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) approach.

These include training sessions by the Italian Police (Postal Police in charge of Cybersecurity and National Cybersecurity Agency) dedicated to the prevention of bullying and cyberbullying and the promotion of anti-racism, introductory lessons to Italian Sign Language and presentations on environmental sustainability conducted by AMA with particular attention to the importance of biodiversity for the local area, both from an environmental and ethical point of view. There will also be awareness-raising activities on accessibility in sport with the contribution of Roma Blind Football, as well as sessions on the climate crisis and first aid lessons conducted by the Arvalia Civil Protection.

These are set to be two weeks of fun, inclusion and sharing, following the spirit that has always guided the club's activities within its community.
