Malen and Soulé's post-Pisa thoughts

Following Roma’s 3-0 victory over Pisa, our players Donyell Malen and Matias Soulé were interviewed by Sky.

Here’s what the two of them had to say:

Donyell Malen

Since you came to Italy no other player has scored 10 goals.

“I think that’s wonderful. Helping the team by scoring feels really nice.”

How have you felt in the last few weeks? How does it feel to win after a run of one win in seven games?

“We’ve been unlucky in some matches, but I think we have to keep playing like this. We're still fighting, and that's the most important thing.”

Matias Soulé

You provided a nice assist for Malen’s goal. What was the secret behind bringing back the joy this evening?

“It was very important to bounce back like this after our defeat at San Siro, by trying to play our game and do what we could. We train every day with the aim of improving our understanding together. I try to combine with him, he tries to combine with his team-mates as well, and I think that's the way forward. Obviously there’s a lot we need to improve, but it was important to bounce back after that defeat, and that’s what we did.”

Are Roma in the race for the Champions League?

“There are six games left - they're all like finals for us because we're playing for the Champions League and we want to qualify for it. Obviously, as Donyell said, it's not been an easy time for us. However, after the San Siro defeat we’ve managed to win here at home, which was very important, because sometimes these things can bring you down. Instead, we bounced back, and we hope to continue like this.”
