The event was held at the headquarters of the Toyota Group, which supports the club in the 'Unstoppable - Superiamo gli Ostacoli' initiative, with the aim of promoting inclusive football and removing barriers in the game.
The initiative gave Toyota Group employees the opportunity to learn more about this sport, which enables blind and partially sighted people to experience the joy of playing football, thanks to the assistance of Roma Blind Football – the capital's flagship team in amateur and Paralympic sport for over 20 years.
The day began with an initial session in the classroom and a demonstration by the Roma Blind Football players using a sound-emitting football, guided by coach Sauro Cimarelli. The participants were then able to try their hand (and feet) at the game themselves, wearing special masks to obscure their sight – a completely new sensorial experience that gave them a better insight into the sport's inclusiveness.
With this initiative, AS Roma and Toyota have further strengthened their partnership to support disability. For several years, the club's Automotive and Mobility Service Partner has provided a fleet of Toyota KINTO vehicles offering free transportation to the Stadio Olimpico on matchday for fans with motor disabilities and volunteers of the Arvalia Civil Protection service who accompany them, provide assistance during the match and organise their return journey home.
