Kostas Tsimikas signs for Roma

AS Roma is delighted to announce the acquisition of Kostas Tsimikas on a loan move from Liverpool.

The 29-year-old left-back, born in Thessaloniki on 12 May 1996, came through the youth ranks at Neapoli Thessaloniki and Panserraikos before joining Olympiacos, where he made his professional debut in 2015.

In January 2017 he moved to Esbjerg in Denmark and saw out the season there.

He was loaned to Dutch outfit Willem II for the 2017/18 season, making 33 appearances in the Eredivisie. He returned to Olympiacos in 2018 and remained there until 2020, when he was named Greek Footballer of the Year.

That earned him a move to Liverpool, where he spent the last five seasons. During his time with the Reds, he made 115 appearances in all competitions and helped the club win a Premier League title, an FA Cup, two League Cups and a Community Shield.

Tsimikas has 41 senior Greece caps to date.

He is the eighth Greek player to don the Giallorossi shirt, following in the footsteps of Jose Cholevas, Lampros Choutos, Trainos Dellas, Dimitrios Keramitsis, Kostantinos Manolas, Panagiotis Tachtsidis and Vasilios Torosidis.

Tsimikas has chosen to wear the No.12 shirt at Roma.

Welcome to Rome, Kostas!
