    Paredes and Saelemaekers after Tottenham-Roma

Leandro Paredes and Alexis Saelemaekers spoke to Sky at the end of Tottenham-Roma, matchday 5 of the Europa League.

Here are the words of the two Giallorossi players.

    PAREDES

Roma is finally alive in every pitch area.

"Yes, it's a team that's alive, one that can always play like this. We have strong players. We've been through two very difficult months, but now we hope to keep going like this."

What were your feelings? Ranieri has given you back control of the midfield.

"For me, everything has changed. I came out of two tough months where I suffered a lot—my situation, the team's struggles, the club's issues, everything. But, as you said, we're a team that's alive and capable of doing well."

The game was decided by Hummels’ late equalizer, despite the opening penalty that he caused...

"It's not easy to start a game like that, conceding a penalty early on, but we didn’t stop pressing or playing our game. And we put in a great performance."

What kind of personal relationship do you have with Ranieri?

“My relationship with the coach has been very, very good from the beginning. I hope it continues to improve. I hope we can keep improving as a team. We have strong players, and we’ll do it.”

    SAELEMAEKERS

What were your feelings when you came on?

"Very happy. It’s been two very tough months for me. I worked a lot through the pain. At first, it hurt quite a bit, but today I got back on the pitch with a great Roma, and I’m really happy."

You suffered a hard foul from Bentancur but got back up. Are you okay now?

"Yes, it was a heavy knock, but that’s football. If you’ve been injured, when you come back, you always take a blow in the same spot. But my ankle is fine, and I’m happy."

What kind of Roma have you returned to, and what kind of Roma do you want to see for the rest of the season?

"I think Roma has always been the same. Inside, we’ve always had the desire to improve and work every day, even though things didn’t go as we wanted. This match will be very important for our future. From now on, we know we can play against strong teams and pick up points. We need to keep going like this, work hard, and move forward."
