On This Day: Roma win the Anglo-Italian Cup!

Cappellini, Scaratti and Zigoni: the three names that led the way as Roma scored three times to beat Blackpool and win the Anglo-Italian Cup at the Stadio Olimpico on 23 June 1972.

On a sweltering Saturday afternoon kick-off was nevertheless at the early time of 17:00 CEST, with the heat perhaps playing a factor as the Giallorossi finished strongly in the second half to clinch a 3-1 triumph.
