The Bianconere went into the break ahead despite failing to have a single shot on goal, as Angelica Soffia unfortunately deflected the ball into her own net early in the contest.
But Alessandro Spugna's side responded to that setback by dominating possession and dictating the contest; finally getting the reward for that control when Paloma Lazaro drove home an equaliser from inside the box on the hour-mark.
"We came here to go toe-to-toe with a great side and I think we did that," Spugna said.
"There is a little bit of regret there, mostly because of the way we performed in the second half. With a bit more luck at certain moments we could have got even more.
"But, nevertheless, we shouldn't lose sight of how we are playing right now and the progress we are making. There are six games still to go and there is everything still to play for."
The Giallorosse had further chances to win the game - Lucia Di Giuglielmo scuffing agonisingly wide from 12 yards out among them - but ultimately had to settle for a draw, a result that means they remain three points behind their rivals in the current Serie A standings.
With six games still to play, however, there remains everything to play for.
"Given the form we've been in, and the way we played today, we are slightly disappointed really," Lazaro said.
"We could have won the game, perhaps with a bit more luck or precision in front of goal. But I'm pleased we at least got a draw which means we are still right there in the hunt."
