Here's what the midfielder had to say about the game - which the Giallorossi finished with nine men, following late red cards for Rick Karsdorp and Gianluca Mancini.
What is your assessment of the game?
“We started the match poorly, but there were a number of refereeing decisions that did not make much sense. Sometimes VAR was called into action, at other times it wasn't. That's not to criticise anyone, though - it's just to talk about, to understand what the process is. Clearly we must improve and we must do better, but there are little things that can make the difference."
What do you think was handled incorrectly, in particular?
“We made mistakes that you can't make in football. We need to understand that, if we want to win against sides like this, then we can't make these sort of mistakes - they will get punished. In that regard we need to make sure we do much better in the next game against Juventus."
That's the chance to make amends for this evening...
“It'll be a good game to play in. A good game in which we will have the chance to show we deserve to win. A good game where we will be playing at home, in front of our fans. It will be tougher because we are going to be missing a few players.
"We will need to show character, those that play will need to show the boss that they are ready for it and ready to help out the side."
