International: Pirone adds to Italy scoring streak

Pirone scored the fifth and final goal as the Azzurre beat Romania 5-0 on their travels in the qualification process for the 2023 World Cup.

Pirone replaced Valentina Giacinti midway through the second half, notching in fine style in the closing stages. Cristiana Girelli (3) and Barbara Bonansea grabbed the other goals on the night.

Pirone was not the only Roma player involved, with Angelica Soffia, Elena Linari, Manuela Giugliano and Benedetta Glionna all starting the contest.

Annamaria Serturini was also a late substitute.
