Benedetta Glionna and Valeria Pirone combined to score their first goals for the Giallorosse and secure victory, on what was a tough afternoon's work for Alessandro Spugna's side.
"We knew it would be difficult today," Pirone said.
"But we did well to get the two goals, and to bring home the three points is the most important thing."
She added: "Scoring goals is everything to a forward, so I have to thank my teammates for doing so much to create chances for me."
Pomigliano defended doggedly throughout the game, frustrating the visitors on countless occasions.
In the end, however, they had no answer for a pair of summer arrivals in Rome. First Glionna grabbed her first goal for the club with a fine finish after being fed by Pirone, before returning the favour in the second half with a trademark delivery that Pirone turned home expertly.
The hosts cut the deficit in half with 30 minutes remaining, but an equaliser proved beyond their abilities.
"We knew it was going to be a tough game, for so many reasons," Spugna said.
"We managed the ball well, we got the goals we wanted - perhaps we could have driven home the advantage we had ... but in the end we worked hard, we sacrificed for each other, and we closed out the game."
