Under 17: Side crowned champions of Italy

Fabrizio Piccareta's side won 3-1 in Ravenna against Genoa to clinch the age group title, just 24 hours after the Under-18 group lost to the same opposition in the same game.

The Giallorossi won thanks to goals from Falasca, Liburdi and D'Alessio - with a late penalty for Genoa not changing the final outcome.

"The lads were brilliant," Piccareta said afterwards.

"They have had to overcome a lot - it's been an unusual season, not just because of Covid but for a number of other reasons too. But they have shown they can dig in when they have to and overcome adversity.

"They are learning a bit more about what it takes, about how to manage games and make the right choices in the right moments. All the players have grown - and I think with this age group Roma really have something from the top drawer."
