On Tuesday, the 101st anniversary of his birth, a special mural to celebrate the life of Alberto Sordi will be unveiled in the Garbatella district of Rome.
The design, produced by the club in collaboration with Regione Lazio and ATER, has been created by the street artist Lucamaleonte - and will be visible on Via Ignazio Persico.
On the same day, on nearby Via Fausto Vettor, a special plaque will be presented that pays tribute to the performer, who helped project Rome to the world in much the same manner as two other performers who have recently been the subject of murals created in conjunction with the club, Gigi Proietti and Anna Magnani.
The mural is not the end of the initiatives implemented to remember Sordi, however.
Last week, on Friday 10 June, members of the Alberto Sordi Association, Alberto Sordi Foundation, Alberto Sordi Museum Foundation and more met with members of Roma Club Garbatella.
As part of that, students from the Piazza Damiano Sauli Comprehensive School were invited to a special edition of 'A Scuola di Tifo', where they learned more about Sordi's life and artistic achievements and the area of Rome in which they are growing up.
