    Roma Women sign Benedetta Glionna!

AS Roma Women are delighted to announce the signing of Italy international Benedetta Glionna.

The forward, 21, has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2024.

Born in Naples, Glionna has already represented Juventus, Verona and Empoli during her career to date.

She spent the 2020-21 season at Empoli under new Giallorosse coach Alessandro Spugna - where she played 21 games and scored 15 goals, 10 of those coming in Serie A.

"I am absolutely delighted to start this new adventure, because Roma is a great club," Glionna said.

"I am excited to be a part of this group, which keeps improving year on year."

Starting her career at Fiammanonza, Glionna made her debut as a 14-year-old and helped the side to earn promotion to Serie B during the 2016-17 season. A year later she joined Juventus, making the leap in quality with ease as she won the Serie A title twice (and the Coppa Italia once) over the two following campaigns.

Subsequent loan spells at Verona and Empoli followed, as the winger built her experience in the top flight.

"Glionna is a forward of undoubted talent," said Betty Bavagnoli, Roma's Head of Women's Football.

"Despite her young age she has already picked up lots of great experience in Italy, and her performances from last season only underline that.

"Her desire to keep on improving even further will only help us achieve great things."

    Welcome to Roma, Benedetta!
