Bove fired the Giallorossi ahead early on, only to see their advantage slip away over the remainder of the contest - as both Riccardo Ciervo and Mory Bamba were denied with late chances to steal an equaliser.

"The team always seems to concede goals in the same manner, and we are paying for that," said coach Alberto De Rossi.

"The real issue is we crumbled a bit after the second goal. We lacked a bit of physicality at times. We could have done a lot better today, it's not down to one particular area.

"We need to work really hard after this defeat and make sure we show the right response. We have AC Milan up next and we need to win."
