PARMA

League position: 15th
Form: W L D D D
Serie A top-scorer: Gervinho (2)
Last time out in Serie A: Parma 0-0 Fiorentina

Their season so far: With just one win from their first seven league matches, it’s fair to say Parma are yet to set Serie A alight since coach Fabio Liverani joined the club at the end of August.

Their sole league victory under the former Italy international came at home to Hellas Verona on Matchday 3, while they have lost two of their three away matches in the top-flight and drawn each of their last three league outings.

It’s hardly the kind of form you would hope for going into an away fixture Parma have won only once in their history and Liverani will be desperate to get his side firing, having found the going tough in front of goal.

They are one of only four teams yet to hit double figures and their eight Serie A goals only top bottom three Genoa (7), Udinese and Crotone (both 6).

Key to that will be for Roberto Inglese to start finding the back of the net after three appearances without registering a goal since the 29-year-old made his previous two-year loan deal from Napoli permanent in the summer.

Alongside him in attack will be a man the Giallorossi know very well - Gervinho, who is Parma’s top-scorer this term with two Serie A goals.

The Ivory Coast international scored 26 times in 88 appearances across a three-year spell in the capital from 2013-16 and he did manage to score against his former employers last season, albeit in a 2-1 defeat at the Olimpico.

Andreas Cornelis is back in contention to provide further competition in attack for Parma but is unlikely to start, while Liverani must do without injured duo Valentin Mihalia and Lautaro Valenti.

What they've said: "I'm expecting an improvement from us, knowing that we have a lot of room to get better regardless of which players take the pitch.

"Over the last week in training I've seen good, intense sessions. I think we are on the right path." - Fabio Liverani, Parma coach
