Roma have beaten Torino more times than any other team in their rich history, claiming 73 wins from 175 matches in all competitions. That record extends to Serie A meetings too, with Roma’s 63 victories from 149 games the most top flight wins they have registered against any one club.

And a happy hunting ground

Since the end of 1990, the Giallorossi have lost just one of their last 18 trips to Torino (W7, D10). Prior to the 2-0 loss on Matchday 18, Roma had also won all of the previous five Serie A matches between the two.

Enjoying their travels

Paulo Fonseca’s men have travelled well recently and have won each of their last two away games in the league. If they can grab a third on Wednesday, it will be the first time Roma have chalked up a trio of consecutive Serie A away victories since winning the final three games of the 2017-18 campaign.

Almost following in famous footsteps

Lorenzo Pellegrini - who had surgery after breaking his nose against Fiorentina - served up nine assists for his team-mates in Serie A this season. The last Italian to reach double figures for Roma in a single season was the iconic Francesco Totti in 2013-14.

The finest of form

Over the course of Roma’s current six game unbeaten run (W5, D1), no team in Serie A has picked up more points (16) or scored more goals (17). Only Atalanta (16 games) and Milan (10) boast better current unbeaten records than Roma.

On the spot

After his pair of penalties in the win over Fiorentina last time out, Jordan Veretout has now scored 12 of his 19 Serie A goals from the penalty spot.

The top marksmen

Roma’s legendary Argentinian duo of Enrique Guaita and Pedro Waldemar Manfredini (nine goals) are the fixture’s top scorers from both sides of the divide. Guaita - who won the 1934 FIFA World Cup with Italy and the 1936-37 Copa America with Argentina - scored nine goals in just four games against Torino, while all nine of Manfredini’s strikes came across his first six meetings with the Torinese.

Edin Dzeko, Alessandro Florenzi and Aleksandar Kolarov (two goals) are Roma’s highest scorers against Torino of the current squad.

Where it all began

Bryan Cristante, Justin Kluivert, Robin Olsen and Javier Pastore all made their Serie A debuts for Roma in the 2018-19 season opener against Torino at the Olimpico di Torino, with Kluivert climbing from the bench to provide an invaluable first assist for the club.

His cross supplied Dzeko’s stunning volley in the 89th minute, the only goal of the game as Roma began the campaign with a 1-0 away win. Kolarov also made his Serie A bow against Torino but as a Lazio player in August, 2007.

A lucky charm?

Having missed the 2-0 defeat earlier in the season due to injury, Cristante remains unbeaten in Serie A fixtures against Torino (P5, W3, D2) and has been on the winning side on each of the last three occasions.

Returning to an old haunt

Both Bruno Peres and Davide Zappacosta spent two years in the maroon of Torino. Peres made 65 Serie A appearances and scored six goals for the club prior to joining Roma for the first time in 2016, while Zappacosta chalked up 56 games and two goals for Toro.

The pair spent the 2015-16 season in Turin - much like they are in Rome now - sharing duties on the right side of midfield, in front of a back-three.
