Veretout proud of attitude shown

The Giallorossi ran out 2-1 winners in their final game of the season at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to Veretout’s two penalties – making a major step forward in their pursuit of automatic qualification for next season’s Europa League.

But, speaking after the game, Veretout was keen to focus on the next match – knowing three points will confirm next season’s European participation.

“It’s a great win tonight, we played really well and gave them so few openings,” he said.

“We could have scored a few more – but we had the right attitude to get the three points.”

He added: “We need to make sure we keep focused – nothing is done yet.

“We have a four-point lead [over AC Milan[ but Wednesday will be another a tough game against Torino and we are fully focused on that now.”
