Stat Attack: Facts to know before Lecce visit

On Sunday, the Giallorossi are back in Serie A action - as they host Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico.

The game gets underway at 18:00 local time; here are a few details worth knowing ahead of kick-off.

    Just one win

Lecce have won just once in 17 previous Serie A meetings with Roma as a newly-promoted side (drawing three of them). That win came back in April 1986. They lost to the Giallorossi earlier in the campaign.

    Familiar feel

The most common scoreline between these two sides has been a 3-0 win for the Giallorossi. That has been the scoreline on five different occasions, the last of them coming in November 2008.

    Strong against the new boys

Roma have won 12 of their last 13 league games against a newly-promoted side - you have to go back to May 2015 for the last time the Giallorossi lost a game like that, against Palermo.

    Time to turn it around

Roma have not won their last four games at the Olimpico in Serie A, the longest such home streak since March 2015 (when they failed to win in seven straight games).

    Work to do

Lecce come into this game having won their last three games in Serie A: the Salento squad have never won four in a row in the top flight, while the last newly-promoted side to manage such a feat was Juventus back in April 2008.

    Guaranteed goals?

Lecce's last goalless draw in Serie A came back in April 2012 against Cesena. Only Cagliari (49 games) have gone longer than Lecce's 32 in waiting for a 0-0 game.

    Head-to-head

Roma have conceded fewer shots (270) than any other side in Serie A this season, while Lecce have conceded more shots on goal than any other (445 - tied with Brescia).

    Starting first

Lecce remain the only side in Serie A not to have conceded a goal in the first 15 minutes of game this season.

    Crossing the line

Lecce have completed more crosses (26.1%) than any other side in the top five European leagues this season.

    Assist man

Lorenzo Pellegrini has provided eight assists in Serie A this season - putting him on course to become the first Roma player to reach double figures for assists since Mohamed Salah in 2016-17.
