Betty Bavagnoli's side kept pace with Fiorentina and AC Milan in the race for a top-two finish in confident style at Stadio Tre Fontane, racing into a 5-0 lead even before half-time.
Bonfantini rounded off her hat-trick with the only strike of the second half shortly after the restart, as Roma cruised to another important three points.
"Today was my day, I'm delighted with the performance we put in," Bonfantini said.
"We took control of the game early and stayed in charge. It's a great result."
It took all of 18 minutes for the Giallorosse to take the lead - as captain Elisa Bartoli got the final touch from a home player as Andressa's corner was eventually diverted in. Moments later Bonfantini took advantage of some more suspect defending to lash home and double the advantage, as Bavagnoli's side began to hum.
Another corner that was not dealt with by the Verona defenders saw Hegerberg tap in from barely a yard out, before a second slick finish from Bonfantini and penalty from Andressa wrapped up the first-half goalscorer.
Bonfantini then etched her name into another corner of the club record books with a finish moments into the second half, completing the rout.
Next up for the sidee are Sassuolo - in another important game as the side continue to apply pressure near the top of the table.
"I'm pleased, I have to give credit to the girls because they handled things well," Bavagnoli said.
"I asked the girls to show what they are made of and I think you saw that throughout the game. Now we focus on Sassuolo, another vital game for us."
