Roma dug deep to make it three wins from three with a 2-1 success at the Stadio Olimpico, thanks to first half goals from Veretout and Edin Dzeko.
But it was the side's second half attitude that stood out for the Spanish shot-stopper.
“The coach told us it would be a very different game to some of the others, against a side that really pressures you and plays man-to-man," Lopez said.
"It was a tough game, but we played well – especially in the first half. In the second half we conceded an early goal and that made things a lot harder, but the guys fought until the end to make sure we brought home the three points."
Can these sort of tough wins give the side the confidence they need?
“Yes, we didn’t make the best start after the lockdown but now we are in a good run of form going into some more important games for the league standings."
Do you find things better with three at the back; a three that in some phases almost becomes five?
“The coach is trying to find the best fit for the players we have and his choices are always about trying to do what’s best for the team. That’s the same for me, and I think the team feels a bit more stable with three.”
Do you think Roma are in better shape now than a few weeks ago?
“When you win the confidence and everything only grows. It’s natural that we will be a bit sharper after a few games, especially following so long out.
"Watching players like, for example, Jordan running everywhere for the entire game is great.”
