Mkhitaryan: No easy games in this competition

Mkhitaryan provided the assist for Justin Kluivert in a 1-1 draw at the Ghelamco Arena, enough for the Giallorossi to oust Belgian side Gent 2-1 on aggregate.

“We only had a 1-0 lead from the first leg so it wasn't easy, but it was still a good result to come here with," Mkhitaryan said.

"It was hard to do better than we did today given the pitch we were playing on. We felt a bit of fatigue too. We tried hard to win but couldn't manage it. The main thing is we're through.”

Did Gent turn out to be a tougher opponent than you expected?

“There are no easy games in this competition as all the teams are good. They can all play football and they all know how to defend and attack. The name of the opposition doesn't mean anything. There are no easy games.”

What position are you happiest in?

“I don't mind as long as I'm playing and helping the team. On the right, on the left or in midfield – it's all the same to me. I just want to play, score goals, provide assists and help the team to win.”
