Unlike the cup win against the same opposition earlier in the campaign there was no need for extra-time, as the Giallorosse dominated from start to finish and ran out deserved winners.
The final scoreline could even have been bigger, as Betty Bavagnoli's side consistently put together flowing attacking moves - but the performance will nevertheless provide a big boost ahead of important upcoming games against AC Milan and Fiorentina.
"I'm pleased with the three points and to have started the year with a win," Bavagnoli said.
"We worked hard this week and really wanted the three points. We need to keep on improving, we want to become even more clinical and convincing in front of goal."

In the end it finished 3-0, with Agnese Bonfantini opening the scoring after just five minutes and Manuela Giugliano doubling the advantage soon after from long range.
In the second half Lindsey Thomas completed the scoring as she rounded off a sharp Roma counter-attack, on a day where Giugliano and Andressa often ran riot in the centre of midfield.
The result means the Giallorosse reach the halfway stage in the campaign with 24 points to their credit - seven more than at this point last season.
"We've been working hard and you see the results of that today," Bonfantini told Roma TV.
"Now we'll work even harder ahead of the game against Milan. We can still be a bit more clinical in front of goal."
