Gallery: Women smash six to beat Orobica

Roma Women ended 2019 on a high note with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Orobica on Saturday afternoon.

The Giallorosse finished the calendar on a four-match winning run, as Andrine Hegerberg (2), Annamaria Serturini (2), Manuela Coluccini and Lindsey Thomas as got on the scoresheet at Stadio Tre Fontane.

The result means Betty Bavagnoli's side currently sit second in the Serie A standings, although both AC Milan and Fiorentina have games in hand.

"I congratulate the team, we wanted to finish the year well," Bavagnoli told Roma TV.

"I pleased for those players who came off the bench as well. Overall there are reasons to be pleased, even if we always look at where we can improve. Now we can recharge our batteries during the international break."

It was an emotional match at Tre Fontane, with Hegerberg celebrating her opener by joining the squad in sending a tribute to teammate Federica Di Criscio, watching from the stands after undergoing knee surgery earlier in the week.

But there was perhaps reason for Di Criscio to be more optimistic later on, as Coluccini made her own return from a serious knee problem in the second half - and immediately marked the occasion with a blistering long-range strike that was greeted with delight by every Roma player.

Serturini then rivalled Coluccini for goal of the game with her second - a slaloming solo run and finish from 25 yards - before Thomas rounded off the scoring with an impudent chip in the closing stages.

Amongst all that, Primavera graduate Emma Severini made her full debut for the club - nearly marking it with a goal of her own.

"It's an honour to have made my debut for Roma, a big club known around the world," she said afterwards.

"I'm pleased with the decision I made to come here and I really feel like I can improve a lot here."
