International: 12 called up for national team duty

Twelve members of the Roma Women squad have been called up for national team duty over the forthcoming international break.

On Thursday midfielder Giada Greggi discovered she had been called up by the senior Italy squad for the first time - where she is joined by three of her club teammates.

Elisa Bartoli, Manuela Giugliano and Annamaria Serturini will all be there to help Greggi adjust - and will be looking a few more international caps in the games against Malta and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Elsewhere, Andressa Alves and Vanessa Bernauer will both be looking to add to their international appearances - as will Kaja Erzen.

Allyson Swaby has also been called up by Jamaica, after the players' recent dispute over missed payments was resolved.

Roma Women are next in action on October 12, as they face Empoli at Stadio Tre Fontane.
