Get to know a bit more about Roma's latest addition of the summer transfer window - attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan...
1. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, on 21 January 1989.
2. When he was a child Mkhitaryan moved to France, to Valence, where his father – who was also a professional footballer – played for the city’s lower-league club.
3. He began his own career in the city he was born, however, turning out for Pyunik – and winning the Armenian league four times with them.
4. In 2009 he moved to Metalurg Donetsk – but within 18 months he had caught the eye of the city’s other club, Shakhtar, who took him on. In three seasons there he won the league on three occasions and made over 100 appearances.
5. In 2013, Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund side signed him. There he won the German Supercup, and also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
6. Three seasons later, Manchester United paid more than €30 million to bring the Armenian to the club. In two seasons at Old Trafford he won the Community Shield, the League Cup and the Europa League – scoring in the final against Ajax.
7. In January 2018, he went to Arsenal as part of the deal that took Alexis Sanchez to United. He scored eight goals in 34 appearances for the Gunners.
8. Infamously, Mkhitaryan’s hopes of scoring in a second Europa League final were thwarted – as political tensions made it impossible for him to travel to Baku for last season’s final against Chelsea.
9. At international level, Mkhitaryan has made 84 appearances for Armenia – scoring 27 goals. He is already his country’s all-time leading goalscorer.
