Serturini among Italy call-ups after Player of the Month award

Roma Women forward Annamaria Serturini has once again been called up for the Italy national team, along with two of her Roma teammates.

Serturini, 20, was recently named the AIC (Italian Footballers' Association) Player of the Month for November, picking up her award at training on Wednesday afternoon. And on Thursday there was further good news for the winger, as she was named in the latest Azzurra senior squad.

She is joined by club captain Elisa Bartoli and experienced goalkeeper Rosalia Pipitone.

Martina Piemonte and Flaminia Simonetti have both been named in Italy's Under-23 squad.

All five players will report to the national team training base at Coverciano from December 16-19.

Serturini received her first call-up for the national team earlier in the season, but is still to make her debut.

She has enjoyed a prolific start to life at the Giallorosse - most recently scoring the second goal in a 3-1 away win over Orobica in the Coppa Italia.

Her form in November was recognised with the Player of the Month award.

"Thank you to all my teammates, the staff and the club - because without them I could not have won this award," Serturini wrote in a post on Instagram.

"I have to say that I am delighted and motivated by this, but there is still a long way to go - the main thing is to keep working hard every day."
