Gallery: Women's players go out to inspire next generation

For the first time the club's newer version, 'Che talento queste ragazze' ('These girls are good'), was introduced to students - as Roma Women players Valentina Casaroli and Angelica Soffia visited the city's Artemisia Institute.

Where the men's 'Scuola di Tifo' is designed to teach youngsters about the importance of fair play, equality and respect for all, 'These girls are good' aims to offer inspiration to young girls who want to play sport, and change the male-dominated atmosphere that can surround football.

Tante le curiosità degli alunni che hanno fatto molte domande sul calcio femminile.

“Per noi è ancora una novità vedere dei bambini che ci chiedono degli autografi”, ha dichiarato Valentina Casaroli ai microfoni di Roma TV. “Per i colleghi dal maschile fa parte della quotidianità, per noi no. È una bella cosa, senza perdere la purezza con la quale ci siamo avvicinate a questo sport”.

“Ormai le ragazze che giocano a calcio fanno parte della quotidianità”, ha proseguito il portiere giallorosso. “È un traguardo importante: dobbiamo ringraziare le ragazze che sono venute prima di noi che hanno fatto tanti a sacrifici e le società professionistiche che sono entrate così fortemente in questo movimento”.
