Stat Attack: 10 figures to know ahead of Chievo trip

Friday night sees the Giallorossi face Chievo Verona at the Stadio Bentegodi - here are 10 facts and figures worth knowing ahead of the contest...

The game gets underway at 20:30 local time.

    Best 11

Roma are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Chievo in all competitions - winning seven and drawing four. Of those 11 games, the Giallorossi also kept a clean sheet on six occasions.

    Chievo's home (dis)comforts

Chievo have won just one of their last 16 home Serie A games against the Giallorossi - emerging 1-0 winners back in December 2012. Roma have won six of those games, with the other nine ending in draws.

    The gialloblù path

Having picked up two points from their first 11 games this season, Chievo have improved considerably lately - taking 10 points from the last 11 games (1 win, seven draws).

    Penalty payments

Chievo are the side that have scored a higher percentage of their goals from the penalty spot than any other side so far this season (four of their 19... or 21%). They are also the only team who are still to concede a penalty this term.

    DDR approaching Baggio

Daniele De Rossi has now played 451 games in Serie A - and 606 overall for the Giallorossi. The club captain is now in the top-30 all-time leading Serie A appearance makers, sitting three behind Chievo's Sergio Pellissier (the leading active player for total appearances) and now only one behind the great Roberto Baggio. De Rossi can therefore equal Baggio's record against Chievo this week.

    Sweet memories for Edin

Edin Dzeko has scored four goals in five games against Chievo during his Serie A career to date...

    Di Carlo vs Roma

Chievo coach Domenico Di Carlo has faced Roma on 11 occasions during his coaching career - with limited success. Roma have won seven of those games, drawing two and losing only two. Di Carlo has faced Roma while coach of Parma, Chievo, Sampdoria, Cesena and Spezia.

    Di Francesco vs Di Carlo

The two coaches, meanwhile, have faced each other on just three occasions - splitting the proceeds equally so far. Di Francesco won as Sassuolo coach against Cesena (3-2) back in 2015, whereas Di Carlo won the first ever meeting between the two men (Livorno 3-1 Sassuolo). The other meeting - Sassuolo-Cesena in December 2014 - ended in a 1-1 draw.

    Totti's last away trip...

It was in Verona, against Chievo Verona, that Francesco Totti made his last away appearance for the Giallorossi. On 20 May 2017, the forward ended as a late substitute at the Bentigodi - to applause from the whole stadium.

    El Shaarawy debut

Roma forward Stephan El Shaarawy actually made his Serie A debut away to Chievo Verona - back in December 2008. The then-Genoa forward was just 16 years 55 days old when he took to the pitch...
