Di Francesco assisted coaching with the national five-a-side (category B1) team, before taking on the role of ‘attacking guide’ in some exercises and, at the end, converting a penalty - while blindfolded - in a shootout.
The boss also answered a number of questions from the players.
“It has been an amazing experience,” Di Francesco said afterwards. “I really hope to be able to bring these kids to Trigoria one day, so they can meet our players.
“In life and in sport you need to have passion and desire, and these guys are a great example of that. It’s really special to watch them play the game: it shows you their love not just for the sport but also for life in general – and their desire to overcome any obstacles to live it.”
