The 25-year-old put pen to paper on an initial one-year loan contract with the Giallorossi on Wednesday after successfully completing a medical in Rome on Monday.
Szczesny is regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in the world and made 29 appearances for the London club during the 2014-15 season.
In 2013-14, the Pole kept 16 clean sheets for Arsenal and ended the season sharing the Premier League ‘Golden Gloves’ award with the-then Chelsea goalkeeper Peter Cech.
Szczesny, the son of ex-Poland goalkeeper Maciej Szczesny, was handed his full debut by Arsene Wenger at the age of 19 after moving to Arsenal’s Academy from hometown club Legia Warsaw in 2006.
He made his Premier League debut against Manchester United and faced a baptism of fire on his Champions League debut against Barcelona.
After completing his move to Roma, Szczesny told Roma TV: “I’ve come here to win games and trophies with AS Roma and I believe that the team is strong enough to do so. I think there’s great potential. I know the faces of the players and I know their names, so hopefully I will settle in very quickly.”
