71% of Roma fans who took part in a Twitter poll on the club’s official page are in favour of Serie A matches being played over the Christmas period
According to the media, the Lega Serie A is considering the prospect of scheduling fixtures during the festive period in the 2016-17 season.
The practice has long been tradition in the Premier League and was recently adopted by La Liga in Spain. It was also tried out in Serie B back in the 2012-13 season.
The proposals would see matches played on Boxing Day, after which the league would observe its usual winter break until 15 January.
