Reports in Italy this week suggest that the Lega Council are debating whether or not to play fixtures during the Christmas period, starting in the 2016-2017 season.
This model is currently used by the English Premier League, and has recently been adopted by the Spanish La Liga this season and Italian Serie B during the 2012-2013 season.
If the decision to include these fixtures were to be made by the council, they would most likely be played on December 22 or 23, and then again on December 26 before the clubs enjoy their annual winter break until January 15.
