Spalletti's three trophies with Roma

Spalletti's three trophies with Roma

Luciano Spalletti returns to AS Roma hoping to add to the trophy collection he began during his first spell at the club.

The new Giallorossi boss's cup haul from his previous reign – June 2005 to September 2009 – includes two Coppa Italia crowns and an Italian Super Cup.

Spalletti claimed his first piece of silverware when the Giallorossi beat Inter in a two-legged Coppa Italia final in 2006-07. A breathtaking 6-2 triumph at the Olimpico was followed by an inconsequential 2-1 defeat in Milan.

In August 2007 Roma edged out the Nerazzurri again. This time it was in the Italian Super Cup – also played at the San Siro – with Daniele De Rossi firing home the winner from the spot.

Spalletti's third cup success came the following year, with Inter the beaten finalists once more. Philippe Mexes and Simone Perrotta bagged the goals as Roma claimed the 2007-08 Coppa Italia in a single-leg final played in Rome.

Here we take a look back at those three moments of glory from the first Spalletti era.
