The Giallorossi matched Massimiliano Allegri's side at Juventus Stadium until the 75th minute, when Paulo Dybala struck what proved to the winner.
“I think we're on the right path in terms of our organisation but we do need to improve the quality of our play,” the Belgium international declared after the final whistle.
“Other than the goal we didn't let them have many chances except that shot by [Patrice] Evra. But unfortunately games are decided by individual moments.”
It was Luciano Spalletti's second match in charge since he returned to the Roma dugout and once again the new boss went with Radja in the hole behind Edin Dzeko.
The 27-year-old revealed: “The gaffer wants me to harry the opposition high up the park and make the most of my ability to turn a defensive situation into an attacking one and I reckon I can do that.
“It's a new position for me but I think I can improve a lot. Playing in different positions helps you become a better player. No matter where I play I just try to do my best for the team.”
Another of the changes introduced by Spalletti is a three-man defensive line, which Roma used against the Bianconeri after practising it during the week.
“We've been doing a lot of defensive work on the training ground,” Radja admitted. “And the fact we've come here and managed to limit Juventus to a few chances is already a good start.
“We need to do better in the final third, though. We have to be braver and push up more.
“The results are what they are at the moment and it's a tough spell for us. Hopefully we can bounce right back in our next game and start making up ground on the sides ahead of us.”
