Napoli v Roma: Three opposition players to watch

Napoli v Roma: Three opposition players to watch

There’s more to this Napoli side than just Serie A’s leading scorer, Gonzalo Higuaín

The Argentinian has 14 goals so far this term but as Roma prepare to enter the Stadio San Paolo, Wayne Girard picks out three more players to watch for…

Raúl Albiol

The brains of Napoli’s backline, the Spanish center-back has been in great form at the heart of defence. His concentration affords him over five clearances and almost four aerial duels won per match on average. He also has the ability to add an offensive dimension to his game - with one assist already this season.

Lorenzo Insigne

The 24-year-old has set Serie A alight with seven goals and five assists already this season. Forming a deadly partnership with Higuaín, Insigne prefers to find the ball out wide on the left and take on his opponent one-on-one. He is averaging over four shots per game so Roma’s right-flank will have to pay special attention to limiting his opportunities.

Allan

Also 24, Allan is the workhorse of the Napoli midfield. Arriving this summer from Udinese, the Rio de Janeiro native has risen his way up to be considered one of the very top midfielders playing in Italy. Three goals, three assists and three tackles per match are an impressive treble. He has played almost every match this season and is sure to bring his all on Sunday – meaning Roma must be prepared for both a physical and a tactical match.
