Florenzi: We wanted to bring the buzz back

Florenzi: We wanted to bring the buzz back

Alessandro Florenzi is frustrated at not managing to get three points in today's home draw against Verona as a win would have brought an air of positivity back to the Giallorossi camp

"Today was not part of the script," declared Roma's No.24 after the match. "We really wanted to win and restore the feel-good factor.

"It might seem a bit repetitive, but all we can do is start again tomorrow."

Florenzi was named in Luciano Spalletti's first starting XI since making his return to Roma.

"Spalletti has communicated his ideas on how to play the game and we need to try to translate that onto the pitch. We know he's a well-prepared coach and he's familiar with this environment.

"We'll definitely have more to show next week as we'll have had more time to get to grips with his tactics."

Did you run out of steam in the second half?

"No, they had an opportunity on the counter-attack and they took it. We had countless chances after the break."

Do you have a message for your team-mate Edin Dzeko?

"As long as you give 110% in every game, you're not to blame for anything."

What are the objectives for the season now?

"We mustn't think too far ahead, let's take things game by game. We need to impose our own game as we did for the majority of the match today."
