Frosinone and Roma have met on just one occasion in Serie A. The match took place earlier this season on 12 September 2015 at the Stadio Matusa, with Iago Falque and Juan Manuel Iturbe scoring to secure a 2-0 win for the Giallorossi.
Frosinone have picked up just two points on the road this season. Along with Verona – who have managed five points – they’re the only side still without an away win.
The Giallorossi currently sit third in terms of percentage of shots on target (47%) and goals-to-shots ratio (16%). Meanwhile, Frosinone are down in penultimate position for shots on target (37%).
Roma are in fourth place this season for goals scored (37) and shots attempted (295).
Miralem Pjanic is Roma’s leading assists man with six so far this season. Two of these have come from dead-ball situations: Pjanic is level with Frosinone’s Danilo Soddimo in terms of assists from set pieces, with Chievo’s Valter Birsa leading the way on four.
Roma have seven players that have only appeared coming off the bench this season, more than any other Serie A team.
The Giallorossi lead the way for goals scored in the first 15 minutes of the game with eight, while they also have the best record for goals conceded in the first half hour with just two.
So far Roma have hit the woodwork no less than nine times – only Palermo have done so on more occasions with ten.
The Giallorossi have conceded ten goals in the last 15 minutes’ play this season. Only Frosinone – with 11 – have been breached more times in that period of the game.
One of the subplots to Roma v Frosinone is a battle between two aerial threats: Edin Dzeko has attempted the third-most headed efforts this Serie A season (12), while Frosinone’s Daniel Ciofani’s 11 headed shots puts him fifth in the list. Despite these numbers, both men are stuck on one headed goal as things stand.
Roma are Serie A’s leading scorers from set pieces, having found the net 14 times.
The Giallorossi faced a total of 18 shots in the return fixture against Frosinone. Only Fiorentina (21) have had more efforts in a single game against Roma this season.
Iago Falque scored his first Serie A goal for Roma against Frosinone. If played on Saturday, the Spaniard will make his 50th Serie A appearance.
Saturday will be the second competitive match in history between Roma and Frosinone. The first-ever meeting between the two clubs was back on 27 September 1934, when the Giallorossi run out 7-0 winners in a friendly held in Ciociaria thanks to goals from Raffaele Costantino, Antonio Fusco, Balilla Lombardi, Mario Marcheggiani and an Enrique Guaita hat-trick.
