Emerson Palmieri: Happy to have the coach’s faith

Emerson Palmieri thanked Luciano Spalletti after Roma’s 3-1 win at AC Milan, with the young Brazilian having made four appearances in the last eight league games

“I’m happy to have the coach’s faith,” Palmieri said after the game. “I’m doing everything I can to get onto the pitch and the boss is seeing that. I can’t let up now – I need to keep going the way I am.”

The Brazilian left-back, who came on in the 78th minute in place of Stephan El Shaarawy, scored his first goal for the Giallorossi at San Siro to put his side 3-0 up against AC Milan.

How did it feel to round the season off with a goal?

“It was an amazing feeling. I’m delighted to have scored for Roma at a great stadium like San Siro. I want to thank God and everyone who’s shown faith in me.”

You played in a more attacking wide position today. How did you find it?

“I feel good at full-back but I like playing as a wide midfielder too. I’d already played there in the past. I enjoyed it and I’m pleased with how things are going.”
