Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has insisted his squad remain focused on chasing down Napoli in the race for second in Serie A, as the Giallorossi prepare to face Torino on Wednesday.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game at the Stadio Olimpico, Spalletti reiterated that his side remain confident and determined to finish the season strongly - despite successive draws in the last two league games.
"Based on what I read it seems like we've completely lost our way, but this team's determination is steadfast," Spalletti told reporters.
"The team did some good things against Bologna and Atalanta. We performed well in both matches – there were some moments worthy of criticism and others worthy of praise.
"We've not won all our games but we're trying - that's the right track."
The Italian also reflected on his decision to release a statement at the weekend, denying media reports of a dispute between him and Francesco Totti.
"I had to defend myself from what I read. It's important to tell the truth and respect the rules," he said.
"I spoke with Totti yesterday and we cleared things up. Now we're focusing on Torino."
After being held against Bologna and Atalanta, the Giallorossi will look to return to winning ways against Giampiero Ventura’s side. But Spalletti acknowledged that Wednesday's visitors will be no pushovers.
"Torino are a good side that can keep it compact and then break well,” he said. “Ventura is a football maestro and an exceptional person - he puts his own spin on his teams.
"I picked different teams for the Bologna and Atalanta games according to the characteristics of the two sides. I expected us to show more experience at 2-0 up at Atalanta.
"We need to be able to maintain our balance. Changes of possession are the most delicate moments of a match. “If we don’t improve against Torino, we run the risk of having the same problems.”
At the start of the press conference Spalletti confirmed that Bogdan Lobont remains sidelined, but Lucas Digne and Norbert Gyomber are both back in training with the group and could be considered for selection on Wednesday.
Miralem Pjanic is also back in training, but Spalletti said further evaluation would be needed before deciding whether or not the midfielder would play a role against Torino.
