Edin Dzeko and Kevin Strootman got themselves on the scoresheet as Roma changed up their pre-season preparations with a training game against a local Boston side on Wednesday morning.
With double training planned for the day Luciano Spalletti’s side arranged for outside opposition, with an XI from FC Boston Bolts providing the morning competition at Harvard University’s Ohiri Field.
In sweltering conditions the Giallorossi side scored five goals, with Strootman (twice, once from the penalty spot), Dzeko (twice) and Iturbe getting on the scoresheet.

Roma XI v FC Boston XI: Alisson, Mario Rui, Gyomber, Jesus, Emerson, Paredes, Strootman, Gerson, Florenzi, Iturbe, Dzeko
Spalletti opted to play Alessandro Florenzi in advance role alongside Juan Iturbe and Edin Dzeko, while Leandro Paredes - wearing his new No. 5 shirt for the first time - completed the midfield with Strootman and Gerson.
In the second half there was a moment to remember for the Bolts side, as Mimi Kenawy scored a thunderous free-kick.
Coach Spalletti will name an entirely different XI for the afternoon meeting, which will take place at 17:30 local time at the same venue.
