AS Roma granted audience with Pope Francis ahead of Festa della Famiglia

The audience will take place on Friday, on the eve of the Festa della Famiglia - which the club has organised as part of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.

The Giallorossi will face San Lorenzo, the Argentine club supported by Pope Francis, in a friendly contest on Saturday 3 September.

The Festa della Famiglia – which will be held at the Stadio Olimpico – comes at a time in which we are all determined to provide tangible support to the victims of the recent earthquake in central Italy.

All proceeds from the friendly between the two clubs, which will kick off at 18:00 CEST on Saturday, will be donated to the Central Italy Earthquake Emergency fund.

During the half-time interval, the singer Alessandra Amoroso will dedicate a performance to those affected by the disaster.

The match will be the culmination of a packed day of activities aimed at families and children. Proceedings will get underway in the Foro Italico area from 12:00 CEST.
