With the international break drawing to a close, Luciano Spalletti’s Roma side will resume their Serie A campaign at Atalanta on Sunday in the first of a demanding run of eight games in 33 days before Christmas.

The mini-cycle of matches will end against Chievo Verona at the Stadio Olimpico on 22 December, by which time the Giallorossi will have negotiated some of the most important games of their 2016-17 season.

After the tough trip to Atalanta, Roma have three games on home turf, starting with the visit of Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on 24 November. Pescara then visit the Stadio Olimpico on 27 November, before a hotly anticipated derby against Lazio on 4 December.

Spalletti’s men travel to Romania to take on Astra Giurgiu on 8 December, before returning to Rome for a tough series of league matches. First up is the visit of AC Milan to the Olimpico on 12 December, with the Giallorossi then heading north to Turin to take on Juventus on 17 December before rounding things off with the home match against Chievo on 22 December.

And while the next month may not be completely decisive for Roma’s Serie A and Europa League prospects this season, it’s sure to be mightily important.
