Salah

Winger Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the 2017 African Player of the Year award

The 24-year-old, who scored the clinching goal in Roma's 3-1 win over Napoli on Saturday, is part of a 30-strong shortlist for the award, which was won last year by Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Salah scored 14 goals in Serie A last season, finishing as the Giallorossi's top goalscorer in domestic competition. He already has four goals this term.

Salah will be considered one of the front-runners for the award, along with the likes of Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez, Liverpool's Sadio Mane, Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Aubameyang.

Former Roma player Gervinho is also on the shortlist.
