Following Tuesday’s announcement that the Stadio della Roma-Tor di Valle project has been approved by Roma Capitale and now sent to the Lazio Regione, AS Roma president Jim Pallotta has expressed his satisfaction at the news.
The latest announcement brings the vision of a 55,000-seater stadium for the club closer to being realised.
“We are very satisfied with the project’s progression,” Pallotta said. “It is another step towards the realisation of one of the most important works in Italy.
“We are convinced that the Stadio della Roma-Tor di Valle project can contribute to the development and revitalisation of the capital, in addition to giving to the city a new stadium that Giallorossi fans can be proud of.”
Considering the project is not just about a sports stadium, but also includes a significant urban regeneration aspect, it promises to be one of the biggest such construction undertakings on the continent.
Luca Parnasi, president of Eurnova, added: "As a Roman citizen and as an AS Roma lover, I am really enthusiastic for this step forward.
“As an entrepreneur who works in our city, I also wish to express a big thank you to all offices involved in process, and confirm our readiness for a constant dialogue during the next administrative step.
“We have designed a project that will lead Rome towards a new phase of growth and jobs, bringing it to the same level as some other European capital cities, so that we can establish, through a work of broad international scope, a healthy pride in being citizens of Rome."
