Seven facts and figures from Atalanta v Roma

CUrio

In Sunday's 2-1 defeat away against Atalanta, Roma broke a positive string of results stretching back six games that included five wins and a draw

Here are seven intriguing statistics from the match at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.

1

One to go. Daniele De Rossi is one shy of 400 appearances in the top flight for Roma. Currently on 399, he just needs to feature in one more match to reach this significant landmark. Radja Nainggolan is in a similar boat; one more appearance and he'll make it 100 games in Serie A. Both could reach their respective milestones at home against Pescara next time out.

7

Luciano Spalletti and Gian Piero Gasperini have now crossed paths seven times as coaches: Spalletti winning four, Gasperini three and there has still never been a draw between the two. They first met back in 2007-08 when Christian Panucci's late goal secured Roma an away win against Genoa. Gasperini has always won against Spalletti whenever his team were playing at home but never away.

8

Spalletti's Roma teams have now played Atalanta eight times, picking up four wins, one draw and three losses. Traditionally the Tuscan coach has always found it difficult playing in Bergamo; in five games he has won just once in 2007-08, drew once last season and lost three times in 2006-07, 2008-09 and yesterday.

19

Yesterday was the Giallorossi's 19th loss away against Atalanta out of 56 league games, while Roma have managed 18 wins at this ground.

123

Counting league and cup competitions, these two sides have faced off 123 times: Roma winning 58, drawing 39 and losing 26. The Giallorossi have scored 188 goals and conceded 129. If you take league fixtures only, Roma have 53 wins, 34 draws and 24 losses, with 171 goals scored and 120 let in.

1949

Atalanta hadn't registered a victory against Roma in November since 1949. Coincidently, that win was on the same day of the month as yesterday's – 20 November. However, the scoreline in 1949 was 3-2. In any case, on both occasions there was a defeat by one goal, so it's not a date that bodes particularly well for the Giallorossi.

2005

Ever since 2005 when Antonio Cassano scored the only goal in a 1-0 win, Roma have always found themselves trailing on the scoreboard in Bergamo, including on Sunday when we took the lead but then conceded twice. The Giallorossi have twice managed to come back and grab the win from a losing position: 2-1 in 2007-08 and 2009-10.
