Luciano Spalletti is convinced his side will show the right response to Thursday night's European frustration when they come up against Palermo on Sunday.
Roma return to Serie A action following the disappointing 3-3 draw with Austria Wien in the Europa League, a game that saw the Giallorossi concede two goals in the last 10 minutes.
That draw seemed to show a regression in performance after the impressive 3-1 away win over Napoli the weekend before - but Spalletti is convinced his side will show the right response this weekend.
“That’s the level we need to reach – what we showed against Napoli," Spalletti told reporters. "The anomaly was the game on Thursday night against Austria Vienna.
"When you’re dealing with a situation, it’s never just down to one area; what happens is a result of the approach in other areas.
"What happened hurt us, but those painful moments will never take away our desire to do something great for the side. I’m convinced that we’ll show that from tomorrow.”
With focus firmly back on domestic matters - Roma now have three league games to focus on before the return meeting with Austria - Spalletti believes three points this weekend will be invaluable, especially with Juventus visiting AC Milan elsewhere.
“It will be [a good weekend] if we manage to beat a team who have not done so well at home but have picked up points away," Spalletti said. "They will be dangerous and we’ll have to be alive to that in our performance.
"Sometimes we allow ourselves to be too relaxed, not very often but it happens.”
