"I'm delighted because there was a bit of everything today," said the Giallorossi coach after the 3-2 win. "We know that essentially we are a very technical side but we fought when we needed to today. When we had to keep the ball, we kept it and when we had to get rid, we did so too. It was grown-up performance which once again proves what a fine academy we have here."
Roma took the lead thanks to Marco Tumminello, before Silvio Anocic doubled their advantage. Entella pulled one back after the break via a Manuel Di Paolo free-kick but Edoardo Soleri scored to make it 3-1. Francesco Puntoriere's effort for the hosts to make it 3-2 proved in vain and the win sees the Giallorossi leapfrog their opponents to join Inter at the top of Group C.
"Soleri played brilliantly," continued De Rossi. "Football is all about hard graft - that's just the way it is. We play with lots of attacking players and they need to help out the team otherwise it becomes tough for the rest of the side and we start to really struggle. Tumminello and Keba Coly played well today too and when the forwards do that we definitely can accommodate them."
While Riccardo Marchizza was forced off through injury, Alberto De Rossi was keen to play down the seriousness of the knock: "Some of the lads were tired and that's unfortunately the reality of the situation. I don't believe Marchizza's injury is serious though. We gave Davide Frattesi a rest because we're a big fan of his and, after his spell with the national team, we didn't want to overwork him."
