On Sunday the boss created something of a sensation, as he gatecrashed a Sky Sports Italia update from the club's training ground to make his opinion clear that the city needs to approve the club's proposal for a new stadium at Tor di Valle.
Spalletti repeatedly used the phrase, "Famo sto stadio!" ('let's build this stadium!'"), which quickly became a hashtag on Twitter. In a matter of hours, #FamoStoStadio was a trending topic in Italy and around the world.
The message picked up huge support around the Giallorossi family - with Francesco Totti leading those who quickly supported the coach's words.
"We need our new Colosseum," Totti wrote. "A cutting-edge stadium for our supporters and all who love sports."
