Radja Nainggolan's strike proved the difference between the two sides at the Dacia Arena, as the Giallorossi picked up their second away win of 2017 in similarly combative circumstances.
You supplied a great assist for the winner today to secure a result that keeps the pressure on Juventus...
“We just need to focus on our own matches. We know that Juventus are ahead and the other teams aren’t far behind us. We need to win our games. It was a tough one today – we struggled a bit after we took the lead then missed the penalty and that continued in the second half, but they didn’t create many chances. We couldn’t quite manage to make it 2-0 but we’re absolutely delighted with the three points.”
Is the only blip the fact that you couldn’t kill the game off?
“It was a bit like last week at Genoa. We had lots of chances to add a second goal today, but unfortunately we couldn’t take them. That said, a 1-0 win is worth three points all the same and that’s the only thing that counts.”
You got the win despite being without a few players today – how important is it that you’ve returned to the form you were showing before your injury problems?
“I just do everything I can to help the team. Everyone played well today. We had to make three changes from last week because Daniele [De Rossi], Toni [Rudiger] and Diego [Perotti] were all missing, but all the players performed well. We’re a strong team and we need to show that on the pitch, both home and away. We’ve started the year well.”
